The 1947/48 season was very successful season for the club with four trophies won. One of the team members, John Hunnaball recorded all the results in his photograph album. The trophy haul included, Runner-up cup in the Knock Out Cup, League Winners (Brightlingsea & District, Section B), Winners of the Amos Cup and Winners of the Bromley Memorial Cup in its first season.

 

The season’s analysis was:

Played - 40. Won - 33. Lost - 3. Drew - 4. Goals For - 120.

Goals Against - 27

The following season season Dedham Old Boys F.C. secured the signature of Les ‘Blondie’ Brooks who was apparently bribed with a pint of beer by the Landlord of the Sun Hotel. The team continued to do well until the mid fifties winning various trophies. There was many a good tussle with the other top team of the area, Wivenhoe Rangers (now known as Wivenhoe Town F.C.).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This photograph is of the team which beat Little Oakley, 1 - 0 in the final of the League Knockout Cup in the 1957/58 season.
